1. What is the objective & uniqueness of BAS Course?
BusinessAnalytics.in  was launched with the objective of imparting quality education on statistics and its use in Business Analytics. The course is designed in a way, which appreciates the techniques of statistics and SAS. It’s a comprehensive course aimed at delivering knowledge on application of statistical concepts (statistics) and SAS. The industry has two sets of skilled manpower: 1) individuals with strong statistics and 2) individuals with SAS knowledge. Finding a combination of both the skill sets is a nightmare for employers. This course helps bridge the gap and train candidates and makes them employable for a career in Analytics
 
2. What subjects/ topics are covered in Certification Course? 

Certification Course comprehensively covers topics on Statistics and SAS, starting with descriptive statistics and then moving on to advanced topics like data mining techniques, logistic regression, Score card. The sessions are equally balanced between theory and practicals. Towards the end of 3rd week, the Saturdays are earmarked for theory and Sundays for Practicals. Theory sessions are engaged with PPTs, business examples & class notes. While Practicals sessions (Learning by Doing) are engaged largely with case studies to solve with hands-on training and assistance. Initial 2-3 practical sessions will be on introduction on SAS.

 
3. How vigorous is the course?

The course is very vigorous and needs equal amount of time to be invested by the candidates to self-learn and understand the tools and techniques. The course puts-in 60 hours of teaching (theory and practicals) and expects all candidates to take the class notes, PPTs & practicals seriously with added self-reading and practice. The project work, if taken seriously by the candidates, will lead to better understanding and learning of the subject.

 
4. Analytics is applicable in which sectors & what are the job prospects?

Analytics is widely used across many business sectors across the world. In India, the opportunities are huge and mainly used in KPOs, Banking, Retail, Pharma, Web, and Market Research. Infact, many sectors and industries are identifying the need and effectiveness of analytics to arrive at better business decisions.

 
5. Is this course suitable only for working professionals or freshers?

The course is suitable for both working professionals with domain knowledge (on sectors mentioned above) and freshers willing to start their career in Analytics. Candidates with a logical mind and eagerness to learn can undergo this course.

 
6. What type of profiles are preferred by prospective employers?
There are three distinct trends foreseeable to the near future:

Analytics is wide spread over so many sectors. The requirements vary from domain specific knowledge (across sectors mentioned above) to specific skill sets in statistics and tools like SAS/SPSS/EXCEL and many other tools used for Analytics. The three skills, which they primarily look for, are Domain Skills, Analytical Skill (BAS) and Communication Skill.

Predominantly, strong profiles with statistics and SAS are preferred and the demand is huge. Moreover, most of the companies are now looking at how logical and fast-learner is a person with out of the box thinking

 
7. Do you provide placement assistance?
